2019 is approaching faster than we might think!

It wasn’t that long ago that 2019 sounded like a far-off distant future, the year of your wedding seemed months and months away. But my how time flies – it’s almost here! Now, that doesn’t mean it’s time to switch on panic mode and start to stress out (let your planner do the worrying for you) but it does mean you need to make some key decisions. You’re going to want to make them soon to save yourself stress later. We’ve compiled data based on inquiries we received in the past year. Out of over 100 couples we’ve spoken with, as well as other vendors and partners we work with, we’ve determined the busiest wedding dates for 2019.

Oh no mine is one of those dates what should I do!

If your date is one of the above then it’s time to get moving girl because having your wedding on a busy date means you need to book things earlier than most couples. Anyone taken a basic economics class? I’m talking supply and demand. Let me break it down for you. If you want those beautiful wooden benches and you’ve been dreaming about having them at your ceremony even since you pinned it to your Pinterest ‘wedding bells’ board 8 months ago when you got super excited about planning, we’re going to want to book those ASAP because you can bet that someone else has that same dream and if you’re on a popular wedding date then likely a high percentage of people will want them too and there is only a limited supply of benches for rent as they are a niche item.

A Wednesday in December – not every bride’s dream

If you are getting married on a Wednesday in December you can definitely hold off on booking a little longer if you’re not 100% committed on the benches or if the cash flow isn’t there quite yet. There’s not going to be any competition for rentals/vendors on that kind of day however if you’re getting married on a busy date and want to get specific rental items, you’re going to want to reserve those very soon.

Book your rentals and secure your vendors

Other than securing your ideal rentals to help create your wedding vision, you’re also going to want to secure your top vendors. Is there an amazing florist in town who has been killing it on Instagram and seems to be doing a wedding every weekend this year? You can bet she’s already had inquiries for those busy dates. It’s always good to plan ahead, but it’s EXTRA good to plan even more ahead when you’re getting married on a popular date!

Try your hardest not to be upset about picking a date that is popular with other couples too – it just means that you’ve got great taste, and it probably means that you booked your wedding close to a holiday. Having a holiday weekend wedding is a considerate thing to do for your guests travelling from afar as they don’t have to take extra time off. The trends from our data showed that other than holiday weekends, the busiest month is October 2019 which accounted for about 40% of our inquiries. October is a beautiful month with that perfect blend of end of summer warmth and fiery fall colors, so it’s no surprise it’s such a popular choice!
